More and more extrusion manufacturers use flame retardants to directly participate in processing and production, on the one hand, it shows that the adaptability of direct use of flame retardants has become higher, on the other hand, it also shows that the pressure of cost reduction of various manufacturers is becoming increasingly urgent.

During the production of contacted plates, sheets, and pipes, the production staff will conduct flame test in time. Some customers will call to discuss some flame test phenomena. Today, I will chat with you:

1. The original processing temperature and speed, the surface of the finished product produced under the new flame retardant system is not as bright as before: the processing temperature and speed of different equipment and processes are best performed in small batches and small batches. These two key parameters are adjusted during production. Generally speaking, the temperature is increased by about 5 degrees compared to the original, and the speed is reduced by about 0.3-0.8 (it is best to communicate with the technical staff of the flame retardant manufacturer to adjust it in advance).

2. Measure the flame retardant immediately when you are done / 1 Measure the flame retardant after 1 hour / Measure the flame retardant after 24 hours ?

At high temperatures, polymer materials need to be re-arranged by macromolecules. After the finished product is manufactured, it needs to be cooled in order to stabilize the molecular structure, and then the flame retardancy performance will be better. So how to predict it? Let the finished product be cooled at room temperature for 1-2 hours. The flame retardancy measured at this time is about half a grade worse than the final result (based on the UL94 standard).

3. Some factories will use recycled materials for production during the production process. So what problems may occur during the process of using recycled materials, and how should we deal with them?

During the use of recycled materials, there may be: bubbles in the finished product, the surface is not smooth during extrusion, and even the finished product cannot be squeezed out. In general, there is no way to ensure the moisture content of the regrind. It may increase the moisture content in the regrind. For this situation, the first batch needs to be heated in the lower bucket for 2-3 hours to maintain a relatively high level in the bucket. Temperature, add defoamer to the ingredients to reduce the effect of moisture on the resin system during heating.
